I don't need to tell you that in recent years, there's been a massive shift of consumers to the Internet to research and buy insurance. Last year alone, they requested 32 million auto quotes online - and 74% of those belonged to either GEICO, Progressive or esurance. (Source: comScore)

I'm not going to give you a bunch more statistics here - there isn't room, and you've probably heard a lot of them already. Here's the bottom line: The old ad space is dying (yellow pages, newspapers, trade mags.) The consumer is already online - researching, shopping and buying.
